KinderKids Paint Bowls

We painted bowls with the KinderKids from the Boys & Girls Club today. They had a wonderful time...we painted lots of bowls, and it's for such a great cause! Be sure to come see us at the Boys & Girls Club Car Show on June 6th....and while you are there, buy a bowl!

How it all began

In 1990, a high school art teacher in Michigan helped his students find a creative way to raise funds to support a food drive. What evolved was a class project to make ceramic bowls for a fundraising meal. Guests were served a simple meal of soup and bread, and were invited to keep their bowls as a reminder that someone else’s bowl is always empty and that communities of people can work together to fill them. Since then, Empty Bowls events have been held throughout the world, and millions of dollars have been raised to combat hunger.

Join us on Saturday, May 2 in downtown Sequim to learn more about our project to feed the hungry with art. You can buy a bowl or find out how you can be part of the Peninsula Emtpy Bowl Project on Washington Street during the Merchant Street Fair at the Irrigation Festival.
