The Peninsula Empty Bowls Project was started by a group of concerned artists as a way to fight hunger and raise awareness of the issue of hunger in communities on the Olympic Peninsula. Food banks, soup kitchens and other community help agencies have seen a dramatic increase in the number of people they serve. Food banks, stretched to the limit, are seeing more young families with children. It is our hope that this year’s Empty Bowls Project will be the first of what will become a yearly event to raise money to fight hunger. All proceeds from this year’s Peninsula Empty Bowls Project events will go to the Sequim Food Bank.

Watch for community bowl making and glazing events to be announced soon, and throughout the coming year.
